According to CoinMeta, blockchain investigator Zachxbt pointed out that the estimated value of the cryptocurrency theft involving an unidentified European entity has risen to over $133 million, following the discovery that another $27 million was withdrawn from centralized exchanges. In an update on November 3, Zachxbt stated that these additional transactions were related to the same illicit actors identified in his earlier investigations, with some withdrawals occurring after he first publicly disclosed the incident. The investigator now suspects that a major financial institution in Western Europe may have been compromised and accuses the organization of concealing the incident. The investigation began with a community alert on November 2, when Zachxbt reported that an unidentified European entity was suspected of losing over $106 million on November 1. Zachxbt also noted that over $30 million in funds have been laundered and may have been frozen by EU law enforcement agencies.
