According to CoinMeta, the man used a script written with AI to register nearly 300,000 free accounts in bulk, in order to claim the new user points offered by a AI platform. Subsequently, he found an unpublicized API interface of the platform and integrated the AI drawing and video generation services that could be used by these accounts into his own intermediary server, selling them to others at a low price. Although customers paid him, the actual computing power used was from the original platform. After the platform detected the anomaly, it implemented additional security measures such as increased registration restrictions and electronic signature verification. However, he continued to use scripts written with AI to bypass these restrictions and even automatically forged interface signatures. In the end, the Xuhui District Court in Shanghai sentenced him to three years in prison with a three-year suspension, along with a fine of 40,000 yuan, for the crime of illegally obtaining data from computer information systems.
