Bank of Canada Governor MacLem: Seven consecutive statements
2026-11-04 00:32:11
According to CoinMeta, Bank of Canada Governor MacLemore has recently expressed the following views: 1. Inflation prospects have worsened. With the ongoing Middle East conflict and rising global oil prices, it is expected that oil prices will remain high for an extended period, which is impacting Canadians' fuel expenses and increasing costs for many businesses. 2. Given the high level of uncertainty, future decisions will be made at each meeting. 3. It is anticipated that by the end of the year, inflation will rise to 3.5%, remain above 3% for most of 2027, and then fall back to around 2% by mid-2028. 4. In the second quarter, growth reached 3.3%, and growth is expected to be around 2% in the third quarter. 5. Despite U.S. trade actions, the Canadian economy continues to show resilience, with slightly improved growth prospects. 6. Due to new U.S. tariffs, growth is expected to slow down in the fourth quarter, followed by a recovery in 2027. 7. Growth is expected to be 1% in 2026, and about 2% in both 2027 and 2028.
