According to CoinMeta, and as reported by The Associated Press, Democratic candidate Gina Inohosa will win the Texas governorship election, defeating incumbent Governor Greg Abbott, who has served for three consecutive terms. In this state, which is traditionally a Republican stronghold with the largest population in the United States, an unexpected turn of events occurred after more than thirty years of Republican rule. With 67% of the votes counted, Inohosa leads with 57% of the vote share, while Abbott has 42%. Inohosa, who is 52 years old, is a lawyer and state legislator. At the beginning of her campaign, she was considered a weaker candidate within the Democratic camp, whereas her opponent Abbott was known for his political savvy and substantial campaign funding. However, as voter dissatisfaction with Trump's policies and the economic situation under Republican governance grew, Inohosa's campaign momentum gradually strengthened.
