According to CoinMeta, Sisi, the person in charge of the Binance Chinese community, responded to the $6.3 billion hacker attack by stating that the responsibility lies entirely with Binance. The stolen funds will be fully compensated to users, who can verify their reserve fund certificates (POR). The team is working together with law enforcement authorities and on-chain institutions to recover the frozen and intercepted assets. After the resumption of withdrawals, the amount of funds withdrawn in the past two days is on par with the amount stolen. The platform has made full and normal payments to users, without misappropriating any user assets. As of November 3rd, all entry points for the attack have been blocked, the affected wallet systems have been rebuilt in a new environment, all affected devices have been replaced, and the relevant credentials and tokens have been invalidated. Internal AI tool permissions have been tightened, and risk control measures have been upgraded. Additionally, an independent third-party security firm has been hired to conduct an investigation, and the findings will be made public. Binance also supports and is willing to take the lead in implementing a joint defense mechanism among exchanges to share the characteristics of this attack with the entire industry.
