According to CoinMeta, Wu said that on November 3rd, the Ethereum layer 2 project Scroll released a proposal for protocol upgrades on the official governance forum. The plan is to transform the existing permissionless, general-purpose L2 network into a permissioned network dedicated to privacy-oriented AI applications, and to migrate the SCR tokens to the Ethereum mainnet, while keeping the token supply and overall token economy model unchanged. Scroll stated that it is difficult to ensure sustained demand for operating a general-purpose network, and since the underlying infrastructure still incurs maintenance costs, they plan to build new network demand around products such as Compass, Ceno, and USX. According to Growthepie data, the net profit on the chain was only about $42.50, which represents a decrease of approximately 92% over the past year.
