According to CoinMeta, New Delhi, the capital of India, was shrouded in thick haze on Wednesday, with winter air pollution further worsening. According to data from the Central Pollution Control Board of India, at 10 a.m. local time on Wednesday, the Air Quality Index (AQI) in New Delhi reached 379, approaching the upper limit of the “very poor” range defined by India. The average concentration of fine particulate matter that can penetrate deep into the lungs and enter the bloodstream reached 277, which is 18 times higher than the 24-hour average limit recommended by the World Health Organization. An analyst from the Energy and Clean Air Research Center, Manoj Kumar, stated that authorities still regard pollution in New Delhi as a temporary issue, rather than a persistent problem throughout the year. Public concern only increases significantly when air pollution reaches severe levels and visibility decreases.
