McDonald's sales in the U.S. show a narrowing decline, with consumers spending more per visit

According to CoinMeta, McDonald's third-quarter sales in the U.S. market fell less than market expectations, due to an increase in the average amount spent per consumer, which offset the impact of a decline in customer traffic. In the third quarter, McDonald's comparable sales in the U.S. market decreased by 0.2%, a smaller decline than the average forecast of analysts compiled by institutions. McDonald's warned in late September that third-quarter performance might be "slightly lower," partly because a series of value menu products launched earlier this year failed to attract the expected number of consumers. McDonald's is under pressure to improve its performance in the U.S. market. As of the previous quarter, U.S. market revenue accounted for 38% of the company's total revenue. The fast-food chain is attempting to introduce new promotional strategies to replace the previously underperforming low-price menus priced below $3. In addition, the company is reducing short-term promotional activities and is focusing on promoting the "value bundles" that have received positive feedback from consumers in the past, as well as reintroducing application-exclusive discounts that were gradually phased out before.
