According to CoinMeta, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu issued a statement on the 5th attacking domestic Arab parties, accusing them of “supporting terrorism,” and called for the formation of a government led by the Likud party. On the same day, Ehud Barak, former Chief of Staff of the Israeli Defense Forces and leader of the Yesh Atid party, stated that efforts would be accelerated to form a new government and to renew and deepen Israel’s relations with the United States. Netanyahu also posted on social media that “a government dependent on Arab parties would not only struggle to deal with threats from external extremism but could also lead to our internal collapse.” He argued that a government led by the Likud, encompassing forces from all ethnic camps and Zionist parties, should be established.
