Cocoa futures fall to a one-month low, increased inventories in Europe and America pressure prices down
2026-11-05 21:25:47
According to CoinMeta, cocoa futures in New York have fallen to their lowest level in a month, while warehouse inventories in Europe and the United States continue to increase, offsetting market concerns about weather risks in major producing countries. The most actively traded cocoa futures contract in New York once dropped by 4.8%, reaching its lowest level since October 1st. Following a significant oversupply in the previous production season, the continuous increase in cocoa inventories monitored by exchanges indicates sufficient short-term supply. However, the market remains closely watchful of weather conditions in West Africa. Vissala, a senior agricultural meteorologist, stated that although temperatures in the northern planting areas of Côte d'Ivoire are slightly above normal, the soil moisture there is still adequate. In contrast, neighboring countries Ghana and Nigeria face less favorable weather conditions, with higher temperatures and less rainfall posing threats to local crop prospects.
