Wall Street Panic Index soars 48%, recording the largest increase since Liberation Day

According to CoinMeta, the Wall Street Panic Index (Volatility Index) surged by 48% for the first time since the Liberation Day, marking the largest percentage increase since Trump announced large-scale tariffs on April 4, 2025. This surge occurred as investors actively withdrew from trading in popular stocks, accompanied by a sharp sell-off in technology stocks. Despite the dramatic increase, the index is still below 25, far lower than the levels at the beginning of the Iran war and also well below the peak after the Liberation Day.
