Microsoft Gradually Terminates Cloud Computing Power Lease Agreement with Oracle AI
2026-11-07 08:40:48
According to CoinMeta, foreign media reports state that Microsoft has not renewed its contract for computing power leasing with Oracle’s AI and is gradually shutting down the leased computing resources. Sources familiar with the matter say that Oracle’s hardware uses a older generation of NVIDIA chips, which no longer meet Microsoft’s current technical specifications. The two parties reached this agreement in 2023 to provide computing power for Microsoft’s new AI search engine, Bing, but the specific amount of the contract is not known. Microsoft is re-evaluating its external computing power partnerships and has committed to spending over $80 billion on computing power leases with emerging cloud service providers such as CoreWeave, Nscale, and Nebius. Affected by this news, Oracle’s stock price once fell by 4.6% during trading, but closed up 0.74%.
