According to CoinMeta, the China Enterprise Reform and Development Research Association recently released the "Global Energy Transition Report (2026)." The data shows that China has established the world's largest and fastest-growing renewable energy system. Peng Huagang, the president of the China Enterprise Reform and Development Research Association, stated that in the first half of this year, the proportion of coal-fired power generation in China dropped to 49.7%, for the first time below 50%. Coal-fired power is transitioning from being the main source of electricity to serving as a backup and system regulation power source. It is estimated that in 2026, China's total energy investment will reach $940 billion, ranking first in the world. China's renewable energy technology still holds a dominant position globally, providing 70% of wind power equipment and 80% of photovoltaic module equipment to the world, and has contributed to a reduction in the costs of wind and photovoltaic power generation by over 60% and 80%, respectively.
