Chicago, October 28th / PRNewswire / -- Rothera, an event contract market regulated by CFTC, announced today that the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) of the United States has approved a new category of swap product it submitted. This product is linked to the key performance indicators (KPIs) of a publicly traded company (Tesla, TSLA). This approval paves the way for Rothera to launch more KPI swaps in the future, including those related to financial reporting, platform usage, and production indicators. This contract is the first of its kind to receive CFTC approval and will provide institutions and intermediaries with a direct way to manage risks associated with a company's specific performance indicators.
Based on this approval, the KPI product, which Rothera is about to launch, will cover three different categories:
- Corporate financial reporting swaps: Example indicators include earnings, sales volume, profit margin, and expenses.
- The company's platform utilizes swaps: Example indicators include the number of active users, the number of customers, flights, and itineraries.
- Corporate Production Indicator Swaps: Example indicators include output and delivery volume.
Rothera CEO Tom Chippas stated: "Today marks a crucial step that investors have been waiting for a long time. The expansion of event contract categories will cover new and more diversified financial market use cases. Rothera We are launching the company's KPI contracts, aimed at providing market participants with highly practical products as the event contract market matures."
He stated, "The KPI contracts of the company enable various market participants to manage their risk exposures related to specific business outcomes and performance in a more precise manner, putting Rothera at the forefront of driving market evolution."
The KPI contract will be gradually launched this autumn, and the platform's use and production of contracts will be launched through the Rothera exchange. The goal is to complete the listing of the first batch before the quarterly financial report dates of the relevant companies. As the application scenarios of event contracts continue to expand, Rothera will continue to rely on reliable infrastructure, a transparent market, and strict regulation to provide support for participants, which is also what participants in mature financial markets expect.
